Warsash Maritime Academy’s Mini Oil Tankers Helps Train Pilots
Filed under : General
The Warsash Maritime Academy in the United Kingdom has a program where pilots drive around miniature oil tankers in a pond. Apparently the mini oil tankers are difficult to drive around and emergency situations are replicated. Personally if you stuck me in one of these, I’d be too tempted to play a game of bumper boats. Some of the emergency situations include a failing engine. These miniature versions of a large tanker runs about $245,000 each. Given the recent pirate attacks, I am wondering how the Academy will be able to replicates a similar emergency situation using these tiny tankers.
