The schools are about to open their doors and children are in danger of getting infected with the Swine Flu, so authorities need to take immediate action. In Wales, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony says that the second wave of swine flu is near and parents should be vigilant with their children.
The first wave of swine flu has been completed and the number of infections has lowered during the school holiday. Unfortunately the children are called super-spreaders and the number of infections might rise again, because of the school start. Also the autumn also helps the number of infections to rise due to the common flu spreading.
Though our chance to lower the number of infections is the H1N1 swine flu vaccine that will be rolled out later during the autumn, if it will be ready. World Health Organization’s ( WHO ) estimates are that one of three people might get infected with swine flu, though for most people the virus will be mild and they will easily recover in 5 – 7 days.
All headteachers have been taught simple and practical hygiene measures for their staff and pupils, so they can lower the infestations at least with some percent. Parents also play an important role in this, because they should keep their infected children at home and don’t send them to school.
