One of the options we can find is the “free web fax services” online, pages that offer to send a fax for free. This option can be useful if you plan to send a single document to a relative or friend, but is not recommendable for business matters. With this service you only can send (not receive) 1 or 2 pages of fax, from there you need to pay a high extra fee.

This is not clear at first I know. And there’s also another “little detail”, with each of your faxes, first a cover page will be sent with an advertisement for the page sending the fax and their paid options. That’s why I don’t recommend it for business purposes.

Other option you have, is to use free web fax software. These are programs that are completely free to use. Although this option sound very promising, the reality is that these applications are mostly limited to just sending faxes and have an awful interface.

Like any piece of software, you need to get over a learning curve to take advantage of them, and they lack of updates, very important in matters of document security and compatibility.

The third option for free fax is the one I recommend: using paid Internet fax services.

Yes, I said paid. But, don’t worry, I’m talking about taking advantage of free trials of these services. You see, these trials have all features enabled in most cases and last as long as 30 days. More than enough time to send important faxes and more.

As you can see, there’s no need to spend money right now if you can’t; there are different alternatives for free web fax you can use!
