With portable audio capability in mobile phones and other MP3 players, we have long forgotten about the walkman, which is something we have gone gaga over in the past. As Sony is also the leader in making those back in the 90’s, the company giant is now introducing a new set of Walkman series.
The new Sony Walkman S Series comes in a slim and compact form factor, measuring no more than 0.5 inches. It has a built-in stereo speakers, and boasts of a 2.4 inches QVGA LCD display screen. It also includes in its tiny frame “clear audio” and “digital linear phase speaker system” technologies.
This walkman also has up to 42 hours of continuous audio playback if you only use the headphones. Using the speakers will drop the performance by more than half to 17 hours. Other features include: voice recording and FM recording capability and drag-and-drop file transfer.
The Sony Walkman S Series comes in black, red, violet and pink colors. It will come out in September where the 8GB will retail for $110, and the 16GB for $130.
