There are two new models for the Sony e-reader–the Sony Reader Pocket and the Sony Reader Touch. This will go head-to-head with Amazon’s original e-book reader, the Kindle.
The Pocket will have a 5-inch display and will be available in colors blue, rose and silver. It will enable you to store about 350 standard sized e-books. The Touch, on the other hand, will have a 6-inch touchscreen display. Users can make handwritten notes using the stylus pen, or type through the virtual keyboard. Users will be able to export and print all notes.
Unlike the Kindle though, both the Pocket and the Touch has no wireless connectivity.
The Pocket will retail for $200 while the Touch for $300. Sony will also be cutting prices of e-books in its store to match Amazon. You can get an e-book for as low as $10 from Sony.
