Samsung i8000 Omnia 2 has been available for pre-order yesterday, priced at $1,000 and today the price has been lowered to $699.99. The reason for lowering the price so much seems to be clear, considering the feedback received from users. Everybody said the price is extremely high and I’m pretty sure there were only a few orders.
Omnia 2 seems to be a great smartphone indeed, but the $1,000 price tag wasn’t correct, considering the prices of it’s direct competitors. It features a 3.7-inch AMOLED 480×800 resistive touchscreen, 8GB of internal memory and it supports a microSDHC memory card slot of up to 32GB, WiFi, GPS, Windows Mobile 6.1 which can be upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.5 once it gets released, and Samsung TouchWiz 2.0 UI.
I wonder if now more people will pre-order the smartphone, considering the price is still high and that a lot of the potential customers prefer to buy a smartphone on contract.
Are you going to pre-order Omnia 2, wait for it to reach a carrier or choose something else ?
