Rumor: PS3 Firmware 3.0 Will Be A Truly Major Update
With the recent release of the PS3 Update 2.80, we couldn’t ignore the rumors of a PS3 Firmware 3.0 which apparently is coming before Christmas packed with a lot of gifts of gamers. According to the reports, PS3 3.0 will be packed with lost of new major features as the firmware is going to be a “huge overhaul.” This sounds great, but just remember that these are only rumors.
In PS3 Firmware 3.0 gamers will finally get the reputation system so that players can choose whom to play depending on their previous activity. In order to obtain the reputation of a user, other users will be helped by a new API. Also, if a player is aggressive then a “grief reporting system” will allow users to take screenshots and report them to Sony.
The rumors say that the PS3 Update 3.0 will be downloaded in background which means that you can play something while upgrading to a newer version. Another great thing is that the new firmware is coming with HDMI and digital optical output which will be very handy for everybody, but mostly for audio junks.
We’re waiting for more details, but Sony denied all these rumors. Of course they did, you didn’t expect them to release important information, did you?
