The Ashes
Nokia N900 Tablet Up For Pre-order In Italy and Germany, But €599 Is Just Too Much
Remember the good looking Nokia N900? Well, when officially unveiled the tablet was rumored to be priced at €500, however, this is simply not the case anymore as the N900 is now available for pre-order at Nokia Italy and Germany for €599. That’s a very big difference, and I have to say that €500 price was already too high, but with €599 in sight, I just don’t know how much I like this tablet.
I’m aware that the Nokia N900 comes packed with 3.5″ WVGA 800 x 480 resistive touchscreen, 5MP camera, 32GB of internal storage plus 16GB via a microSD card, GPS/A-GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, quadband GSM/GPRS.EDGE, tri-band UMTS/HSPA, FM transmitter, TV-out, OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics support, Adobe Flash 9.4 support, and the long-expected Maemo 5 platform. However you can find these specs at numerous smartphones, and Maemo 5 is a first therefore it’s unproven yet. Who knows how many bugs will trouble the Nokia N900?
I think many consumers will pass this tablet due to the high price, but I guess we’ll have to wait until carriers start picking up this black beauty. Actually, that’s what you have to do. Let’s see how Nokia will find a way to lower N900’s price.
