Mysterious Android MID Is A Only Rockchip Concept, And A Way To Introduce A Chip
Last week we posted lots of pictures of an unknown Android MID / Tablet. We didn’t know what to think of it as we didn’t know anything about it. That Android MID looked like a wannabe Apple Tablet with Android OS. Many have said that this is the SMiT MID-560, however, this beauty is now official, but sadly it won’t ever get on a consumers’ market. This Android MID is only a Rockchip concept which only wanted to introduce its RK2808 720p-decoding chipset that will soon become available for mobile devices.
The Chinese chip manufacturer put the new RK2808 720p video decoding chipset on a 5-inch tablet, then added Android OS, WiFi, a cool UI, on-screen keyboard, web browsing, scrolling, and other stuff. The result is pretty good. You will have to watch the videos below the post to convince yourself. Too bad this MID is only a concept, but who knows… maybe someone will decide to put in on the line and sell it to millions of potential users.
I don’t think this concept will be released in its current state, but when the giants will see how the Rockchip chipset performs with Android OS then they’ll definitely have to battle for it, right?
Check out the videos and let us know what do you think of it!
