Microsoft officially unveiled the Zune HD several weeks ago, but the pricing, full specs, and the release date are still unknown. The good thing is that now we can are 99% sure about the pricing and the release date thanks to packaging, Amazon, and Buy.com leaks. The Zune HD is coming on September 15th and there are two sources which point to that date. At the end of the post you can see a few screenshots of the Zune HD package which shows that the multimedia player will be available as of September 15.
The Zune HD release date has been confirmed by Buy.com where you can see a countdown timer which shows that there are 33 days and 9 hours (at the time the article is being written) left until Microsoft’s player will become available which means that consumers around the world will get a taste of HD Radio, HD Video, multitouch, great browser, and even better UI on September 15.
If this multimedia player with Nvidia Tegra in the package meets its expectations then the iPod Touch will finally have a serious competitor. We would love to see the Zune HD be so good as Apple will be forced to provide a better product.
According to Amazon, the 16GB Zune HD will cost $220, while the 32GB Zune HD will cost $290. The pricing hasn’t been confirmed and Amazon removed the details for an unknown reason.
