This is big: Sprint has just announced an exclusivity deal over the HTC Hero. Many US consumers were crying for a HTC Hero, but the smartphone delayed to show up. Now the wait is over as after a couple of months of speculation and rumors about Sprint and the HTC Hero, the carrier made if official that the smartphone will become available on October 11 for $179.99 after rebates. Another interesting thing? The HTC Hero will not feature its famous chin.
The smartphones comes packed with a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, microSD card slot of up to 32GB, WiFi, GPS, trackball, anti-fingerprint coating, Teflon coating, Bluetooth 2.0, 5-megapixel camera, accelerometer, light sensor, Visual Voice Mail, instant messaging, Exchange Active Sync, Twitter, FaceBook, Flickr, while Sprint will provide Sprint TV, NFL Mobile Live, Nascar Sprint Cup Mobile Sim, and many others.
Don’t worry about the chin, although the phone would have looked better with it. The good thing is that the HTC Hero will feature the HTC Sense UI that is making any other smartphone jealous. If you thought about switching to Sprint, then you will have a hard time in choosing a phone: to Palm Pre or to HTC Hero? That is the question!
