HP Envy 13 and 15 – When Fakes Get More Expensive Than The Originals
When I first looked at these laptops without knowing what they are I said: oh, look! Here are a couple of cheap MacBook Pro fakes, but I wasn’t right about everything as these are very expensive MacBook copies. The HP Envy 13″ and 15″ look very much alike the MacBook Pros and I don’t know if the company realized that we are all going to tell that the notebooks resemble Apple’s products. Apparently and in HP’s visions, the pair is based on the Voodoo Envy legacy, but we say that it’s based on MacBook’s unibody design.
The HP Envy 13 and 15 inch are made of magnesium covered with aluminum, but they are not as tough as the MacBook Pros, however, they are tougher than conventional laptops.
The HP Envy 13″ features a 13.1-inch WXGA screen with 82% color gamut, and 410 nit brightness, ATI Radeon HD 4330 Slim Fit extended life battery which provides up to 7 hour of battery life, and a glass trackpad that also should resemble MacBook Pros’ glass trackpad but fails miserably.
The HP Envy 15″ features a 15.6-inch screen, glass trackpad, Intel Corel i7 processor, dual SSD drives, ATI Radeon HD 4830 graphics with 1GB of virtual memory, Slim Fit extended life battery, and is weighing 5.18 pounds while the 13-incher weighs 3.74 pounds.
Both laptops will become available on October 18th, will be powered by Windows 7, and will cost $1,699, respectively $1,799. So who’s gonna get these?
P.S. Apple sells the MacBook Pro 13-inch for $1,199, while the 15-inch costs $1,699.
