Google’s email service, Gmail, has been down for several hours, returning a 502 server error or “unable to reach Gmail”. Currently, it seems the issue is fixed, but a lot of people still search on Google for terms related to the issue.
“We’ve fixed the issue, and Gmail should be back up and running as usual. We’re still investigating the root cause of this outage and we’ll share more information soon,” has been posted on the Gmail blog.
Until know the cause of the outage is not clear and we still wait for an update from Google, after they figure it out. This isn’t the first problem of this kind with Gmail, a few more have been reported before. Also Gmail is not the only one that faces outages, because Yahoo, Microsoft, AOL and more are sometimes down for a short period due to technical problems. Other issue might be a DDOS ( Denial of Service ) attack, but it’s not the case right now, according to Google.
