Gigabyte T1028 TouchNote Is Righteous Touchscreen Netbook
The FCC has officially approved of the Gigabyte T1028 TouchNote, that nifty little touchscreen swiveler that’s just about the right size and shape to fight in the netbook class, and now it’s showing up on the Gigabyte website, too. This power player has a 10.1 inch touchscreen that’s good for showing stuff off in 1,366 x 768 resolution. It’s powered by a 1.6 GHz Atom N270 Processor, has a commodious 160 GB SATA hard drive, advanced Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel camera, good ol’ WiFi and Ethernet, and some decent speakers. There’s also an embedded HSDPA module and a WiMAX module.
The Gigabyte T1028 promises to ship with a 4-cell battery, whose charge capacity we can’t even speculate about, but we’re more eager to see this one with the optional 6-cell Li-Ion in the rear. That ought to put the hours around 6 or more, and that’s just fine for day-to-day swivelbook usage.
We’re not sure yet on the price of this beast, but we’re sure of one thing: It looks great with that coppertone overlay. We just bet that you’ll be dreaming about this one tonight. Tomorrow, it might even be for sale.
