The thrill of finding bargains is what keeps shoppers coming back to Goodwill stores.
Every time you go to the Goodwill store you are sure to find at least one item that you have to have and at a price you can afford.
Many experienced Goodwill shoppers have even started online auction businesses with items they’ve found at these second hand stores.
Whatever your reasons are for shopping at your local Goodwill store, you are sure to find bargains that won’t break your budget.
Things to do before shopping at Goodwill store:
Before you head off for some serious shopping at a Goodwill store, there are a few things you should do. Primarily dress very comfortably, since you will be trying on clothing and standing looking through racks for an hour or more.
Experienced shoppers will also tell you that drinking a lot of coffee before you shop is a bad idea. Rarely is there a bathroom at your local Goodwill store, so plan ahead.
If you are looking for clothing, get a shopping cart and plan your attack rack by rack. Start at one end of the rack and work your way completely through it.
Once you get to the end of the rack sort through the items you’ve chosen and decide whether you want to keep all of them or not. Remember, many thrift stores sort their items by approximate size since tags may be missing.
It may take a while but going completely through each rack you are interested in is the best way to find bargains.
Once you have collected all of your clothing items, be sure to try them on. Trying the clothing on is also another way to check for rips in hems and seams, broken or missing zippers and missing buttons. Unless you are handy with a sewing machine you will want to discard any clothing item that needs repairs.
