Facebook is apparently beta testing a new service called Facebook lite and there were some users invited to test this service. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to do it because the link didn’t work.
Until Facebook announces officially what this service is about, everyone is rushing to release rumors about it or just their opinions. Some have expected a service like this coming from Facebook, in their battle with Twitter, and now Facebook has also bought FriendFeed for $50 million, so they are much more into this fight.
Of course Facebook denies the fact that the service is being developed especially for their fight with Twitter and they stated the Lite version will be for people in developing countries, who don’t have broadband access and will offer them a lighter version of the pages.
We are not sure if this screenshot represents the final version, but it does look more like Twitter, doesn’t it ?
