Bluetooth 3.0 Technology To Be Unveiled On April 21
We have been waiting this for so long, that we almost forgot it’s coming – Bluetooth 3.0 technology will be unveiled on April 21st. At last, the Bluetooth Special Interest Group has announced that they will unveil the Bluetooth 3.0 technology in less than two weeks. According to the company, Bluetooth 3.0 will be significantly faster than 2.0 or 2.1 technologies as you will be able to transfer “an entire music library, a complete DVD, a vacation’s worth of photos, all within seconds at the touch of a button and wirelessly will now be possible.”
Bluetooth 3.0 will also come with many features as the technology will take advantage of the 802.11 speeds. Bluetooth SIG says that data transfer will no longer be interrupted by movements like placing a cellphone into a pocket thanks to a feature called Enhanced Power Control. Regarding the 802.11 speeds, it seems like the 802.11 PAL will enable the Generic AMP feature which can be used with 802.11 radios.
I can’t wait for Bluetooth 3.0 to come, but I’m also concerned about how much the technology will cost, and when Bluetooth 2.0 will be removed from the market. Let’s just wait for April 21st to come and we will learn more then.
