Apple Set To Release Two Tablets: 6-inch and 10-inch Starting At $679
The rumors about the Apple Tablet have gone too far now. I just can’t bear with them anymore. Seriously Apple. Just release the damn thing or things already. You heard that right: it seems like Apple will release two tablets if it were to believe analyst Richard Doherty. Several weeks ago we reported that Apple investigated screens ranging between 4 to 12 inches, but most reports pointed to a 10-inch tablet that would cost around $800.
According to Mr. Doherty, Apple will release a 6-inch tablet and another device with a larger display, probably 10-inch. The director at market researcher Envisioneering Group says that the small one is like a giant iPod and it will be destined for media applications like watching videos and reading e-books, and for playing games, while the bigger one will run on Mac OS X and it will be destined for video / audio editing, and graphic animation amongst many other apps.
The analyst says that both Apple tablets might be released in September at a starting price of $679, however, the Apple iPod Event doesn’t mention any new devices besides new iPod Touch and new iPod Nano. I guess we will have to wait until September 9 to see if the Cupertino-based company will release a new tablet or more devices. My guess is that CEO Steve Jobs will wait until early 2010 to unveil his new brainstorming idea.
